Impact will be measured in three primary ways:

• Connections and investments made as a result of the portal will be tallied.
• The consortium asks that those seeking capital report back on capital raised per project to be reported as an aggregate community total.
• Downstream activity by those seeking capital will be measured against the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The foundation will also make an effort to gather metrics such as investment returns, job creation, new patents, carbon sequestration and other impacts.

What level of due diligence is conducted on investors and investment opportunities?

The portal is for information and networking purposes only, and due diligence is not conducted by the consortium partners.

Offline due diligence is the responsibility of investors and those seeking capital after their connection in the portal has been made.

Impact Cleveland is a critical tool to invite the world to participate in our effort to create positive systemic change through impact investing in our community.

Why is the consortium committed to impact investing?

Impact investing helps generate positive social and environmental benefits along with delivering a financial return. As such, impact investments are precisely the form of economic development the consortium desires to bring about in the community.

Why should I join as an investor?

As a member, investors receive a private profile that allows them to save investment opportunities, be alerted when new opportunities post that fit their investment mission and make initial contact and exchange information with those seeking capital. Investors always make the first move.

What is the criteria to join as an investor

Impact Cleveland is open to institutional or individual investors able and interested in committing at least $500,000 to impact investing. Investors should be willing to be contacted occasionally by the consortium partners for general information about their experience in the portal. This will help continuously improve the portal and generate collective feedback for those seeking capital.

Who approves investor requests for membership?

The consortium finance team reviews investor applications against our minimum criteria for inclusion. (See above.)

Is there a performance guarantee from those seeking capital?

No.

Will my investor information be shared?

The consortium partners will not share your information with outside parties. Investor contact information is not shared with those seeking capital unless the investor initiates contact.
